Dear Erasmus,
Even though Lausanne might well be the most amazing city in Switzerland, the CERN (Centre Européen de Recherche Nucléaire) and its host city, Geneva, are worth a visit.
The day will lead us to the CERN at 9am to explore the depths of quantum physics. A guided tour in English will be provided. Even though the Large Hadron Collider is closed to visitors because it is currently in service, other facilities of real interest will be shown.
After a picnic lunch, a guided tour of Geneva will be given to smaller groups, followed by a fondue dinner at one of the most iconic places of Geneva : Les Bains des Pâquis.
Then, you will have the choice to head back home (around 10:30 pm in Lausanne main station) or take the opportunity to go out in Geneva and come home by your own means (trains are running every hour all night).
Don’t hesitate to ask the ESN staff for places to go on Saturday night after dinner : Geneva’s nightlife is rich in and the offer is broader than in Lausanne.

Bien que Lausanne soit sans doute la ville la plus incroyable de Suisse, le CERN et sa ville-hôte Genève valent quand même le coup d’être visités.
La journée nous conduira au CERN à 9h afin d’explorer les profondeurs de la physique quantique, où un tour guidé en anglais nous attendra. Bien que le LHC soit actuellement fermé au public car en fonctionnement, nous aurons l’opportunité de voir d’autres installations intéressantes.
Après un pic-nic, nous nous repartirons en petits groupes afin de visiter la ville de Genève. La cathédrale, le jet d’eau et l’ONU sont seulement quelques uns des monuments que vous pourrez (re)découvrir. La soirée continuera par une fondue dans un des endroits les plus iconiques de Genève : les bains des Pâquis.
Ensuite, vous aurez le choix entre rentrer à Lausanne avec le train réservé (environ à 22h30 à Lausanne gare) ou prolonger la soirée avec une découverte de la vie nocturne genevoise (les trains pour Lausanne partent chaque heure toute la nuit).
N’hésitez pas à demander au staff ESN où sortir le samedi soir après manger : la vie nocturne de Genève est riche et l’offre plus vaste qu’à Lausanne.
