Greetings hiking enthusiasts!

We are excited to invite you to an unforgettable weekend in Interlaken, nestled between Lakes Thun and Brienz and surrounded by some of the most iconic valleys in Switzerland. This trip is ideal for anyone who wants wide panoramas, photogenic villages, and flexible hiking options.

On Saturday we will head into the Lauterbrunnen area for a waterfall-focused valley day. You’ll choose one of two hikes:

  • HARD HIKE: approximately 12.6 km with 730 m of elevation gain. This is a sustained route requiring good fitness.
  • EASY HIKE: approximately 7.04 km with 130 m of elevation gain. A gentler itinerary on well-marked, easily accessible paths.

After returning to the hostel, we will share dinner and then continue the evening with a party in a club in Interlaken for those who feel like dancing.

On Sunday you will have the opportunity to choose one of two different options:

Option 1 : Visiting Lake Brienz & Giessbach Waterfalls. (11:15 – 17:30)

  • Enjoy a one-hour boat cruise on the turquoise waters of Lake Brienz and visit the spectacular Giessbach Waterfalls.
  • You’ll then take an easy 1.5-hour walk in total, through lush forests and along the lakeshore. A perfect mix of relaxation and nature!

Option 2 : Visiting Lake Thun & St. Beatus Cave (09:30 – 17:30) : this option costs an extra CHF 10.

  • Take a 30-minute boat ride across Lake Thun to Merligen, then visit the impressive St. Beatus Caves, filled with stalactites and underground streams.
  • In total, you’ll walk for about 3.5 hours, including the pleasant lakeside trail back toward Interlaken.

Bring good hiking shoes and dress for changing mountain weather (layers recommended), and pack a swimsuit and towel if you are among the brave who might try a quick dip; water, snacks, and a small backpack will make the day more comfortable.

You will also need to bring lunch for Saturday and Sunday. You can buy Sunday’s lunch directly at Interlaken.
