“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas”, don’t you think ? This is why we want to invite you to the last but not least city trip of the semester for a day filled with Christmas spirit ! So hop on a train and travel with us to Basel whose Christmas Market was voted the best in Europe in 2021!
Multitude of tiny rustic wooden chalets offering warming drinks, local and seasonal culinary delights, Christmas decorations and gift ideas, artisanal goods and more are waiting for you ! So let’s all inhale the smell of the mulled wine (or hot chocolate), dive into the sea of lights, and let ourselves be delighted by the very special charm of the Christmas celebrations.
We will start our journey by strolling around Basel's beautiful and festively decorated historical center and enjoying the view over the Rhine, which we will cross by a little boat tour . Then, we cannot miss the opportunity to visit (and warm ourselves up in) the Kunstmuseum , Switzerland’s biggest and most important art museum that houses the oldest public art collection in the world ! Finally, we will end the day with its most exciting part : The Christmas Market.
