HOW MUCH TIME IT WILL TAKE YOU:

We recommend taking the whole day but the afternoon could also work, depending on what you are planning to do in Fribourg :)

WHAT IT IS:

You can start with a tour of the city. You’ll find here the map for a 1-hour tour that passes by most of the interesting places in the city. Don’t forget to have a look at the explanations for each stop of the tour. The tour ends at the banks of the Sarine, where you can swim (depending on the time of the year), and have a nice picnic.

If you prefer to hike around the lake of Pérolles, look at the map here where you will find the itinerary. It's a 3 hour walk with very few ascents or descents very suitable for everyone.

In terms of things to visit, there is first of all the St-Nicolas cathedral, at the top of which you can climb to admire the view (and help you forget the 365 steps!). There are also many museums such as the Museum of Art and History, the Gutenberg Museum, the Museum of the Sewing Machine and Unusual Objects, the Puppet Museum and the Botanical Garden. You can find all the information about visits here: https://www.fribourgtourisme.ch/en/GP534/museums-and-other-places-to-visit
